Minecraft allows you to create a world with a massive level of customization. You can choose between specific biomes, world types, new game rules, and much more.
However, you can go even further into world customization and terrain generation through Minecraft seeds.
This guide will cover everything you need to know about how to input a Minecraft world seed, how to find good world seeds and a list of some standout world seeds to get you started.
What Is A Minecraft Seed?
Every time you generate a Minecraft world, the game creates a “seed” — a set of characters identifying the world’s specific generation amongst the rest.
As you may know, every Minecraft world is entirely random.
This means that each one has its own unique Minecraft seed.
You can also input a custom seed to customize your experience. This will provide you with a spawn point near any point of interest you’d like.
How To Input A Minecraft Seed
To input a Minecraft seed, you must first find one online.
There are multiple places to find some excellent Minecraft seeds, including our guide right here!
Once you’ve found a seed for your Minecraft version number, open the game to get started.
1. Click Single Player
Head to the Create a World menu by clicking Singleplayer on the main menu.

2. Click Create New World
From the world list menu, click on Create New World.

3. Select The World Tab
While the game will place you on the Game tab, click over to the World tab.

4. Input Your Seed Number in the Seed Box
Under the box with the Seed for the world generator header, paste your seed number. Then click Create New World.

Best Minecraft Seeds
The best Minecraft seeds are subjective, but we’ve compiled a list of standout seeds including those with a spawn point near a desert village, a jungle temple, or a Cherry Grove biome, among many others.
Let’s get into the best Minecraft seeds.
Note: these seeds are for Minecraft: Java Edition version 1.21.1.
Stony Peaks Resource-Heavy Biome
The seed number 1977649108 leads to a tall Stony Peaks biome with loads of early resources.
Right next to the spawn point, there’s a ton of Coal, Iron, and some Emeralds.

It also has a melon farm nearby for food and is next to a jungle biome that matches the nearby mountains.

Woodland Mansion Spawn
The seed number 2483172244543469247 spawns you next to a Woodland Mansion sitting atop massive mountains.

Next to the Woodland Mansion are a set of Mushrooms, cool underground caves, and snowy mountain peaks.
Definitely pick this biome if you’re looking for some rare items within the Mansion or if you’re trying to build an incredible mountain structure.

Cherry Grove Biome
The seed number -5584399987456711267 spawns you next to a Cherry Blossom biome, providing you with instant access to the beautiful pink Cherry Wood.

The Pink Wood Planks these trees provide are some of the game’s best, and this spawn point also puts you close to two Villages, an Ancient City, and a Mineshaft, among other things.
It’s also next to a Tundra Biome and a forest of Oak Trees.

Desert Village Biome
The seed 486362209 is one of the most insane seeds on this list.
It puts you next to four Desert Villages and a Desert Temple.
While you can ignore the villages if you’d like, each one comes with chests full of items and resources to hoard.

From there, you can check out the Desert Temple for some scarce items and maybe even some Diamonds or two.

Mountain Island
The seed -7434317084881831641 places you on a decently sized mountain island.
If you’re looking for a bit of a challenge, why not try to stay on the island as long as you can? There are tons of trees, some resources down below, and some good spots to start a strip mine.

If you do want to leave the isle, however, you can build a Boat and sail towards a new world.

Pillager Outpost
The world seed number 29151576 sets you next to a Pillager Outpost, which is nice if you’re looking for a pre-built tower to inhabit.

Next to the Pillager Outpost is a Cherry Blossom biome as well.
Head into the Outpost for a nice view of the Cherry Blossoms and some nice loot.
Of course, most Pillager Outposts come with some trapped Allays for you to find.

Mooshroom Island
The seed number 3903589 puts you next to not just one but two Mooshroom Islands. These islands include all types of mushroom alongside the elusive Mooshroom mob.

A Mooshroom is a mushroom-covered Cow that you can Shear to grab a few Mushrooms. However, know that this will turn the Mooshroom into an ordinary Cow.

Mangrove Swamp Biome
The seed number 191 will place you in a Mangrove Swamp biome. These biomes are super warm swamps that spawn tropical fish and warm frogs alongside a unique Villager type.

What’s interesting here, though, is a Village will not spawn naturally in this biome. Instead, you have to create a Village to get the Villagers to appear.
