However, if you’re itching to try out all of these new features, well, you have the latest Minecraft 25w45a snapshot to try. This was released on November 4, 2025, just several days ago.
How do I test the Minecraft Snapshot?
To test the Netherite Horse armor yourself, you’ll have to enable snapshots for your Minecraft: Java Edition.
First off, launch your Minecraft Launcher, and enable snapshots in the “Installation” tab of the launcher.
Then look for the Snapshot version 25w45a, which has all the new content coming to the Mounts of Mayhem update. You can install it after finding it.
Afterwards, you can then launch Minecraft.

How do I craft Netherite Horse Armor?
In terms of getting the Netherite Horse Armor, this awesome armor isn’t found the same way other horse armors are found, like within Chests in Minecraft structures. You’ll have to craft the Netherite Horse Armor, and you can follow along with these few steps:
Step 1: Find Diamond Horse Armor
Diamond Horse Armor is usually found in chests in structures such as Monster Rooms, Ancient Cities, Desert Pyramids, End Cities, Jungle Pyramids, Nether Fortresses, Strongholds, and some Villages.
You’ll be using this as your base armor to apply the Netherite to it later on.
Step 2: Gather Netherite and the Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template
Netherite is found by mining Ancient Debris in the Nether.
Afterwards, you’ll have to combine the four Netherite Scraps with four Gold Ingots to make one Netherite Ingot.
Additionally, you need to find a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template. This can only be found in Bastion Remnants within Chests. You can also duplicate this with Diamond and Netherrack.
Step 3: Craft the Netherite Horse Armor
Once you’ve gathered the materials, open up your Smithing Table and add the materials to their respective slots to craft the Netherite Horse Armor.
Step 4: Equip the Netherite Horse Armor on your Horse
As you’ve crafted your Netherite Horse Armor, simply add it to your Horse’s armor slot.
