Palworld has various crafting recipes available to enhance your in-game experience. These recipes require different raw materials, with ore being one of the more frequent ones.
As a result, harvesting a ton of ore is an excellent goal to target as you begin playing Palworld. This guide is here to help with that.
Our Palworld Ore farm locations guide shows you how to find ore and provides the best ore deposits on the early game map, the best locations to farm ore, and even an alternative way to harvest ore nodes.
What Is Ore In Palworld?
Ore is a valuable raw material used in the early-game, mid-game, and late-game crafting recipes. As a result, you’ll want to have an ore stash going at all times.
You can mine ore by using a pickaxe on ore deposits found throughout the world. The higher the level of your pickaxe, the more you’ll get per swing.
Ore weighs eight pounds per unit, making it one of the heavier items in the game. Make sure to have a ton of free space in your inventory when you go mining.
While you can roam around and manually mine ore deposits as you explore, this process isn’t very efficient.
To quickly gather the thousands of ore you’ll need throughout the game, it’s best to establish an ore mining farm.
How To Build An Ore Farm In Palworld
Building a Palworld ore farm will get you more ore than you know what to do with. Plus, ore farming locations automate the process entirely so you can explore while your Pals do all the work.
#1. Finding a good spot to farm ore
To start, you need to find a spot with several ore deposits. There are many of these all around the map, but one of the best starter ore locations is behind the Desolate Church.
The Desolate Church is close to the tutorial area, and you can access it immediately after completing Palworld’s beginner missions.
The easiest way to reach the desolate church is by a land or a flying mount. However, you can always climb your way up if needed.
Once arriving at the Desolate Church, activate the fast travel point to return there quickly.
Run behind the church to find nine ore nodes.
#2. Building a second base at the Desolate Church
Now, you’ll want to build another base location using a Palbox. If you cannot make another base, head back to your main base and complete missions to level it up.
Once you reach base level ten, you can set up another base location wherever you’d like.
Upon reaching base level ten, gather one Paldium Fragment, eight wood, and three stone.
Then, navigate to your desired base location, enter the Build menu, select the Palbox, place it down, and build the object.
Note: Even if you can’t build another base, you can always establish a small settlement near a fast travel point and a set of ore nodes for manual mining.
#3. Using Pals to farm ore
Now it’s time to fill your ore farm with mining Pals. Interact with the Palbox to see your list of Pals. Search through it to find ones with a high mining level.
You can view a Pal’s mining level by looking at its skills on the Palbox’s right-hand side. Search for the Pickaxe icon and examine the number next to it. You’ll want Pals with a mining skill of at least two.
If you’re still in the early game, Penking is an alright choice.
After putting some mining Pals to task, build a wooden chest nearby so there’s a place to store ore.
With the mining process established, you’ll need transport Pals to gather and move the ore. View a Pal’s transport level by finding a cardboard box in their list of skills.
While Pals are happy to mine for you, they need a space to rest at night or they’ll grow frustrated. Make sure to build them some beds.
Finally, your Pals need to eat! We recommend building a Berry Plantation near the beds, so your Pals have a sustainable food source.
That said, you’ll also need Pals that can seed, water, and gather plants once they’re grown. No one said running an ore farm was easy!
Pals with gathering and seeding skills will have a number next to the leaf icon and a number next to the seed icon, respectively.
You’ll also need a watering Pal if you don’t have one already. In our case, Penking has a watering skill of two, which complements its mining and transport skills.
Lastly, build a Feed Box so Pals have a place to store and eat food.
#4. How to create custom ore nodes
Eventually, your Pals will sit idle while waiting for ore nodes to respawn. In this case, you can maximize your farming ore processes through the Ore Mining Site structure.
This structure provides an endless supply of ore nodes for your Pals to farm.
You can unlock the structures’ recipe by reaching level 15 and spending two Ancient Technology Points in the technology tree.
Once you place the structure, your mining Pals will focus on it when there are no natural ore nodes to harvest.
Upon reaching level 31, you can unlock a more powerful Ore Mining Site for three Ancient Technology Points.
Other Palworld flying mounts
While we’ve listed the majority of the flying mounts in Palworld, there are a few more to discover while playing. We don’t want to ruin all of the surprises, after all.
