Palworld Merchant types are seemingly endless. There are all different kinds of Merchants, including Wandering Merchants, Pal Merchants, and Medal Merchants. Many of these Merchants are self-explanatory, providing you with useful items, Pals, and similar offerings. However, despite how cheery the game may look, there’s a seedy underbelly within.
Palworld portrays this underbelly in a few ways, but what’s most notable is its Black Marketeers. These Merchant types are dark individuals, providing you with services that are less than savory. If you’ve been wondering about Black Marketeers in Palworld, we’ve got you covered.
This guide will discuss the Black Marketeer in detail, going over a Black Marketeer’s inventory, how to make Gold Coins from a Black Marketeer, and a few of the Black Marketeer locations so you can engage with them however you wish.
Let’s get into it.
What Is The Black Marketeer In Palworld?
The Black Marketeer in Palworld is one of the most ominous beings in the game. That’s right — Black Marketeer NPCs in Palworld sport a terrifying dark mask and accompanying armor alongside a smoke pipe.

A Black Marketeer’s inventory is just as shady as his looks, consisting of contraband Pals. If you don’t know the meaning of contraband, it’s products that are acquired through illegal methods. In this case, illegal Pal trading.
Morality aside, Black Marketeers differ from the game’s Pal Merchants in that the former has a constantly rotating set of Pals, while the latter has a consistent inventory.

You can find Black Marketeers roaming the world, though this is rare. Instead, it’s best to find the specific, hidden spots that Black Marketeers frequent. We’ll go into the Black Marketeer locations later in this article, but first, let’s discuss the merchant’s inventory.
When you approach a Black Marketeer, you’ll see two options: buy contraband or sell contraband.
Buy Contraband (Buy Pals)
When you click Buy Contraband, you’ll see the Black Marketeer’s collection of Pals. These are typically rare Pals, and their price often reflects this. GIVE EXAMPLES. You can buy as many Pals as you have the Gold Coins for. Leaving and coming back at a later date will result in a new inventory of Pals.
Sell Contraband (Sell Pals)
The Sell Contraband option allows you to sell your own Pals to the Black Marketeer. You can sell any amount of Pals to the merchant, assuming you like the price he’s willing to pay. This is definitely the shadiest option offered by any of the game’s human NPCs.

Palworld Black Marketeer Locations
While we won’t detail every Black Marketeer Palworld has to offer, we’ll provide some notable locations so you can get to buying and selling Pals on the Black Market.
Near Windswept Hills
As you surely know, the game’s starting area is the Windswept Hills. Believe it or not, there’s a Black Marketeer not too far away from here.
Start by heading to the Fort Ruins Fast Travel Point at coordinates 182, -390. Then, take note of the character marker in the image below. You’ll find the Black Marketeer around there.

Head west and then a bit north, navigating to the top of the pointy mountains. You’ll find the Black Marketeer hanging out up there.

Desolate Church
Next is the Black Marketeer location near the Desolate Church at coordinates 63, -416. You’ll notice from the image below that the merchant is just west of the Fast Travel Point, making it easy for you to find him.

As you head west, you’ll notice a rocky outcrop. Head below it.

Down here, you’ll find an Abandoned Mineshaft — a gateway surrounded by fencing and torches. This is a common marker for the Black Marketeer. If you ever see this out in the wild, head inside, and most of the time, you’ll find the shady merchant. Other times, you’ll find a boss Pal.

East of Sea Breeze Archipelago Church
If you head to the Sea Breeze Archipelago Church Fast Travel Point at coordinates -72, -550 and look east, you’ll notice a set of rocks jutting out into the ocean.

Head out to those rocks using a Flying or Swimming Pal, and you’ll find the Black Marketeer standing at the very edge of this outcrop.

Beach of Everlasting Summer
Just south of the Beach of Everlasting Summer Fast Travel Point is a Black Marketeer with some high level Pals. Find this Fast Travel Point on the west side of Mount Obsidian at coordinates -804, -564.

Then, head just a bit south, fight your way through some Pals, and you’ll find the Black Marketeer standing outside, ready to sell you his best Pals.

Ruined Fortress City
Speaking of Mount Obsidian, let’s find another Black Marketeer location just north of it.
To start, find the Ruined Fortress City Fast Travel Point at coordinates -562, -346.

Just west of that point is yet another one of the Black Marketeer locations. This one is a bit more hidden than the others, with our Merchant hiding behind one of the many stone walls spread throughout the Fortress.

You’ll also have to fight a few Pals to get here safely. Also, make sure to have some heat resistant armor — it’s brutally hot here!
With these Black Marketeer locations in mind, why not hire a crew of explorers to help you mark down the rest?
