To get started, you need to build a base, and one important resource after establishing a base is cotton. Cotton can be tricky to find, especially when you’re just starting out in Soulmask. But with this guide, you’ll learn exactly where to find it! Let’s explore some ways to find cotton.

What Is Cotton Used For In Soulmask? 

In Soulmask, cotton is a vital resource for crafting a variety of items. It can be processed into Coarse Cotton and Yarn, which are essential for creating numerous late-game items such as saddles.

Finding Cotton In Soulmask

The easiest way to get cotton is to head northwest from your starting location. Keep going in this direction until you find a Barbarian Barrack. This area has plenty of cotton for you to gather. To locate the Barbarian Barrack, first, you need to find a Barbarian Camp. At the camp, look for a scout. Catch and interrogate the scout, and they will provide information on where to find the Barbarian Barrack.

When gathering cotton, be aware that the cotton plant might not always be fully grown when you find it, but don’t worry. It grows quickly, so you can return later to gather it. The areas around the Barbarian Barrack are guarded, so be careful not to fight near the cotton plants as you might accidentally destroy them.

The area around the Barbarian Barrack is usually covered by the fog of war. However, you can still see the camp’s name through the fog. To make things easier, clear the fog of war before heading to the barracks. Go to the Western Barbarian Scout Camp, which is southwest of the Barbarian Barrack. At this camp, you’ll find a barbarian warrior, an attack dog, and a Barbarian Scout. Defeat the warrior and the dog. Lower the Scout’s health to around 30%, then press E to deter the Scout and absorb their map knowledge, which clears the fog of war.

Press Q to scan the three enemies to reveal their names so you don’t accidentally kill the Scout. If you kill the Scout, the camp will respawn in about 15 minutes. Search the chest in the camp for Cotton Seeds. These seeds are worth keeping, but remember, you can’t unlock the farming schematics until awareness strength level 10, so you’ll still need to harvest cotton this way for now.

How To Harvest Cotton In Soulmask

After revealing the map, head up to the Barbarian Barracks. You’ll find cotton growing in a crop field on the southern side of the wall around the Barracks. If you take the main entrance, be ready to fight about five enemies who are level 12-15. If you want to avoid fighting, you can use the rocky outcropping on the western side of the wall to climb over and sneak into the field without being seen.

The cotton plants look like 10-foot-tall green bushes with white flowers. You don’t need any special tools to harvest cotton. Just press E when you are close to them to harvest.

Once you reach awareness strength level 10, unlock farm plots in your technology tree by pressing “T”. This will allow you to use cotton seeds to plant your own cotton plants at your base.
