There are twelve Work Suitability skills in Palworld. However, most of them focus on producing items. That’s great and all, but what about item storage? You don’t want to spend time managing all of your Pal’s production methods and transporting items to storage boxes, do you?
Fear not! The game’s Transporting Pals have you covered. This guide will detail everything you need to know about how to transport items, including the best Pals for early game Transporting, how to prioritize Transporting over other jobs, and how to increase a Transporting level beyond its maximum.
What Are Transporting Pals?
Transporting Pals are creatures that are able to move items from storage spots to gathering and mining stations. For example, Transporting Pals can bring Stone from a Stone Pit to a Chest.

While these aren’t necessary Pals by any means — you can transport materials yourself — having these Pals around makes managing your base much easier, as you’re eliminating busywork to focus on more important things in your Palworld life, like making progress exploring or catching new Pals.
Transporting is one of the game’s many Work Suitability skills, represented by a cardboard box. Work Suitability skills are Pal-specific abilities that dictate how a Pal can help around your base. Medicine Production is one example of this, as is Kindling or Planting.

There are five levels of the Transporting skill. A high Transporting level means a Pal can carry more items than before:
- Level 1: The first Transporting level represents Pals that can transport two items simultaneously.
- Level 2: Pals with Transporting level two can carry five items at once.
- Level 3: Transporting level three ups a Pal’s carrying capacity to 10 items.
- Level 4: The fourth Transporting level is for Pals that can carry 20 items at once.
- Level 5: The fifth and final Transporting level represents Pals that can carry 40 items at once.
You might know that most Work Suitability skills cap out at level four. However, through the Condenser item, you can upgrade a few Pal Work Suitability skills to level five. We’ll go into this in a little bit.
Work Suitability For A Multi-Skilled Pal
Pals with multiple Work Suitability skills will prioritize work based on the following criteria:
- 1: Protecting the base from attacks.
- 2: Tending to other Pals and putting out fires.
- 3: Base building tasks, such as putting together a new structure.
- 4: Electricity generation or grazing in a Ranch.
- 5: Cooking, harvesting plants/seeds, smelting items at a Furnace.
- 6: Watering, Planting, and item Transportation.
- 7: Medicine Production, cooling food.
As you can see, Transporting is fairly low on a Pal’s focus list. Even if a Pal has a high level in Transporting, they will prioritize other Work Suitabilities first in many cases.

This is why it’s important to find Pals with a good balance of the Transporting Work Suitability and their other tasks. In some cases, if you plan on doing a lot of Transporting, you might even want a Pal with a lower Transporting level than another Pal, if Transporting is their only skill. This way, that Pal will focus only on Transporting multiple items, even if the process is a bit slower than a Pal with a higher Transporting skill but with multiple Work Suitabilities.
Now, before we get into the best Pals for Transporting items, let’s discuss how to reach level five Transporting.
How To Reach Level 5 Transporting
There are only three Pals with the highest Transporting level, level four. Those Pals are Wumpo, Wumpo Botan, and Knocklem, which we’ll get into a bit later.
However, there’s an in-game structure, the Pal Essence Condenser, that you can use to increase a Pal’s Work Suitability levels alongside their health, attack, defense, and Partner Skill level. By placing one of those three Pals in there and following the right steps, you can raise their Transporting level to five.
But first, you need to build the Pal Essence Condenser.

Pal Essence Condenser
Unlock the Pal Essence Condenser by reaching level 14 in the Technology Tree and spending two Ancient Technology Points.

From there, you’ll need 20 Paldium Fragments, 20 Ingots, and 5 Ancient Civilization Parts to build the structure.
Once placed, you can upgrade your Pals by sacrificing other Pals. After sacrificing a certain amount of Pals, your upgraded Pal will gain a Star. After reaching four Stars, your Pal’s Work Suitability levels will increase.
Here’s how many Pals you must sacrifice to get to four Stars:
- 1: Four Pals.
- 2: 16 Pals.
- 3: 32 Pals.
- 4: 64 Pals.
After sacrificing a total of 116 Pals, you’ll see the stat increase in your main Pal.
Now, let’s get into the best Pals for Transporting.
Best Transport Pals Palworld
Wumpo
Wumpo is a large beast that harnesses the Ice element. It has a Transporting Work Suitability of level four, alongside its Handiwork level two, Lumbering level three, and Cooling level two.

You can find Wumpo all around the game’s snowy biome. This Pal’s Partner Skill allows you to ride it, increasing your max carrying capacity.

Wumpo Botan
A Grass type version of the normal Wumpo, Wumpo Botan sports a Transporting Work Suitability of level four, alongside Planting level one, Handiwork level two, and Lumbering level three.

This Pal has the same Partner Skill as its Icy brother. You can find them at the Number 2 Wildlife Sanctuary on the Map’s West side.

Knocklem
Knocklem is a massive, armored creature with a Transporting skill of level four, Gathering level three, and Mining level four.

Its Partner Skill increases the Pal’s attack and defense. Unfortunately, you can only find it randomly while exploring in the form of an Alpha Pal.
Selyne
Selyne is a gorgeous Dark type Pal that harnesses the power of the Moon. It has a Transporting level of three, Handiwork level four, and Medicine level three.

You can fly this Pal via its Partner Skill, though it only appears during the meteorite event on Sakurajima Island.
Mossanda
This cute green bear is a Grass type Pal with a Transporting skill of level three, alongside its Planting level two, Handiwork level two, and Lumbering level two.

This Pal can be ridden via its Partner Skill, and you can find it anywhere on the island just north of the game’s starting area.

Helzephyr
Finally, we have Helzephyr. This Pal’s only Work Suitability skill is Transporting level three, making it an excellent Pal for the Essence Condenser strategy we mentioned earlier. This is because it won’t get distracted by other tasks or other Work Suitabilities, making it one of Palworld’s best for Transporting.

You can find Helzephyr all over the Map’s central island. Just make sure you’re exploring at night.
