Of all the rare materials in Palworld, Pure Quartz is one of the better resources. This is a difficult material to grab, but one that allows you to enter the Electric Tier of base building structures. As a result, you want loads of it.
Fortunately, we’ve got you covered.
This guide will cover everything you need to know about Pure Quartz in Palworld, including the best locations to mine it, which Pals drop it, and what you can even do with it. Let’s get into the guide.
What Is Pure Quartz in Palworld
Pure Quartz in Palworld is one of the most vital crafting materials you can find. While it’s a pretty item in its own right, its fundamental importance is its use in crafting Circuit Boards.

Circuit Boards are required to craft the Electric stage of base building structures, such as the Electric Cooler, the Electric Heater, or the Electric Furnace. In turn, you need these Electric structures to build craft late-game materials such as Plasteel — a metal material used in armor and weapons.
A Circuit Board requires four Pure Quartz and two Polymer.
Here’s everything you can make with Circuit Boards in Palworld:
- Electric Cooler
- Electric Furnace
- Electric Heater
- Electric Kitchen
- Electric Medicine Workbench
- Electric Pylon
- Production Assembly Line II
- Sphere Assembly Line II
- Weapon Assembly Line II
- Refrigerator
- Large Ceiling Lamp
- Large Mounted Lamp
- Mounted Missile Launcher
- Jetragon’s Missile Launcher
Of course, you must acquire Pure Quartz before using it. Let’s break down how to find Pure Quartz.
How To Find Pure Quartz
There are a few ways to find Pure Quartz in Palworld. You can choose to mine Pure Quartz, or you can choose to farm Pure Quartz. Most players do a combination of both, ensuring they gather all the Pure Quartz Palworld has to offer.
Mining Pure Quartz
Mining Pure Quartz requires you to search for Pure Quartz Nodes (also known as Pure Quartz deposits). Pure Quartz nodes will drop Pure Quartz at a rate of 120 per. You’ll notice Pure Quartz stands out from the other materials, like Coal or Ore, due to its sparkly, almost icy nature.

The best place to mine Pure Quartz deposits is in the snowy fields of the Astral Mountains. The Astral Mountains are on the northern part of Palpagos Island. We’ll get into some more specific locations within these mountains later on.

Surviving here requires you to have Cold Resistant Armor. While you can sometimes get by with Cold Resistance 1, we highly recommend armor with Cold Resistance 2.

Just make sure you have a Metal Pickaxe or higher. This will speed up the mining process quite a bit.
Farm Pure Quartz
Hitting Technology Tree level 50 will allow you to unlock the Pure Quartz Mine with five Ancient Technology Points. Once acquired, you can place it in your base at the cost of 70 Stone, 30 Paldium Fragments, at 100 Pure Quartz.

After you place the mine, you’ll need mining Pals to take advantage of it. Some of the best mining Pals are Anubis, Blazamut, Astegon, or Digtoise.
Astegon is especially great, with a Mining Work Suitability of level four. That said, Digtoise is the more accessible option as it’s much easier to catch.
Either way, your mining Pals will go to work on your Pure Quartz structure. You can also choose to build a base near a set of Quartz rocks. These nodes will automatically respawn, giving your Pals even more ways to mine resources.
To speed up the mining process, make sure to find Pals with passive skills like Artisan. This increases their work speed, giving you more resources over time.
You can also place the Pickaxe and Helmet structure to increase mining speed across your base. Unlock this crafting recipe at level 30 in the Tech Tree, and build it with 50 Wood, 50 Stone, and 50 Ingots.

Finally, Pure Quartz can also drop when you defeat or capture these three Pals:
Jetdragon
Jetdragon is a Legendary Pal, making it extremely rare. In fact, Jetdragon is considered by many to be the “end-game” Pal. At least when it comes to the base game.

You can find Jetdragon near Mount Obsidian -788, 321. It’s a very challenging Pal — one that’s even harder to catch than it is defeat. However, achieving either outcome will net you with some Palworld Pure Quartz.

Astegon
You can only find Astegon in one spot: the No.3 Wildlife Sanctuary. This area is on the top-right of the map, Northeast of the Desert. It’s located at coordinates 660, 635.

Once there, be wary. This beast is no joke and often attacks you on sight. Should you defeat or catch it, you will acquire some Pure Quartz.

Frostallion Noct
Interestingly, you cannot find the Frostallion Noct while exploring. Instead, it’s only found by breeding a Frostallion and Helzephyr or finding a Noct Egg. Either way, defeating one will have it drop Pure Quartz.

Pure Quartz Locations
Let’s get into our Pure Quartz list of locations.
A spot at the coordinates -417, 471 is ideal, housing four to six mining deposits at any given time. It’s west of the Land of Absolute Zero Fast Travel point, which in itself is north of the Unthawable Lake Fast Travel point.

Coordinates -254, 392 is an area filled with resources. It’s one of the best locations we’ve found for Pure Quartz, though similar places, like the area we mentioned above, are also great.

This last area we recommend is at coordinates 165, 427. Interestingly, it’s one of the only spots you can get Pure Quartz that isn’t found in snowy fields. Instead, they’re on a grassy outcrop attached to the mountain.

With all this information about Pure Quartz now loaded in your brain, why not try to gather some with your friends? The more the merrier, they always say.
