Palworld has an in-depth crafting system that rewards leveling up and putting a lot of time into building its recipes. That said, the game features a built-in workaround through Schematics.
Schematics are a sort of cheat code through the Technology Tree, letting you craft things before unlocking them. This guide will detail the game’s highest-level Schematics, also known as Legendary Schematics.
What Are Schematics?
Schematics in Palworld are blueprints that allow you to craft items without unlocking their recipes in the Technology Tree. Oftentimes, you can use Schematics to craft higher level gear long before you’ve gotten access to it.

Schematics generally come in the form of Weapon Schematics or Armor Schematics. The Feathered Hair Band Schematic or the Heat Resistant Pal Metal Schematic are examples of this.
There are dozens of Schematics in this game, with varying degrees of rarity. Of course, this article is specifically about Legendary Schematics. Let’s get into them.
What Are Palworld Legendary Schematics?
Legendary Schematics are rare drops — the rarest ones you can find in Palworld. Nearly every weapon or armor type has its own Legendary Schematics, and collecting them all is no easy feat.
Note that Legendary Schematics will show up as the number 4 in-game. For example, Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor Schematic 4 is the Legendary Schematic for that item.

However, there are multiple ways to obtain Schematics of the Legendary variety, as many Chests or Pals are known for dropping Schematics. Let’s detail the best ways to find Legendary Schematics.
Where Can I Find Legendary Schematics?
You can find Legendary Schematics through a few methods, including but not limited to beating Alpha Pals or exploring the game’s Oil Rig.
Dungeons
Dungeons are one of the most natural ways to find Schematics of the Legendary variety.
You can find Dungeons all over the Map, denoted by what seems like an empty black cave as their entrance.

Dungeons are linear gauntlets full of enemy Pals and humanoid enemies hellbent on hunting you down. They’re also full of Chests that can drop Schematics of the common rarity and otherwise.

However, you can only discover Legendary Schematics from the Chests that drop after beating a Dungeon Boss. These items also have a very low drop rate. This means that Dungeon farming is a must.

That said, Dungeons only reset after a certain amount of time. This delay means you should search for other Dungeons in the meantime to increase your chances of a Legendary Schematic drop.
Chests
Speaking of Treasure Chests, you’ll find Chests located all over the Map. You’ve surely opened these before and noticed that they drop materials, Pal Spheres, and possibly Schematics.

What’s nice, however, is that while you’re opening chests around the open world, they all have a small chance of dropping a Legendary Schematic. This goes for Normal, Bronze, Silver, and Gold chests, making them a nice, passive way to gather Legendary Schematics. So feel free to use your Chest Keys as you see fit.
Bosses (Alpha Pals)
Outside of the Chests that drop from Dungeons, understand that Alpha Pals also drop Legendary Schematics. In fact, each one is known for dropping a specific Legendary Schematic, meaning you can farm them to get the ones you desire.
For example, the Kingpaca Alpha Pal drops the Legendary Old Bow Schematic, while the Necromus Alpha Pal drops the Legendary Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor Schematic.

Here’s a list of every base game Legendary Schematic and which Alpha Pals drop it:
- Legendary Assault Rifle – Blazamut
- Legendary Cloth Outfit – Chillet
- Legendary Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor – Paladius
- Legendary Cold Resistant Refined Metal Armor – Lyleen Noct
- Legendary Crossbow – Bushi
- Legendary Double-Barreled Shotgun – Vaelet
- Legendary Feathered Hair Band – Penking
- Legendary Handgun – Beacon
- Legendary Head Resistant Pal Metal Armor – Necromus
- Legendary Heat Resistant Refined Metal Armor – Astegon
- Legendary Metal Armor – Elizabee
- Legendary Metal Helm – Warsect

- Legendary Pal Metal Helmet – Frostallion
- Legendary Pelt Armor – Azurobe
- Legendary Pump-Action Shotgun – Suzaku
- Legendary Refined Metal Helm – Menasting
- Legendary Rocket Launcher – Jetragon
- Legendary Single-Shot Rifle – Verdash
Note that Alpha Pals do respawn after a certain period of time. To increase their spawn rate, go to your World Settings and adjust the Pal Appearance Rate. You can also adjust the Day/Night Time Speed modifier to make days and nights go by faster, speeding up the rate at which Alpha Pals respawn.
