Of all the Palworld crafting materials, ones you can gather while Mining are of the utmost importance. Ore, Quartz, Stone, and similar offerings are ideal for building new structures or gear while playing Pocket Pair’s creature collector.
Of course, you can use a Pickaxe to gather materials yourself, but why do that when you can get Pals involved? Fortunately, we’ve got you covered.
This guide will detail everything you need to know about gathering the best Mining Pals Palworld has to offer. This includes Pals you can find in the early game, all the way to the best Pals you can find — those with the highest possible level in terms of Mining. Let’s get into it.
What Is Mining Work Suitability?
Mining Work Suitability is a stat that tells you how good a Pal is at mining. The higher a Pal’s Mining Work Suitability, the more efficient they are at the mining skill.
Pals have all sorts of Work Suitability skills ranging from 0-4. Zero means they have no skill in the task, while four means they’re one of the best Pals for it.

In terms of mining, those with high Mining Efficiency are great at mining Ore, Stone, Coal, Sulfur, or Pure Quartz.
To maximize a Pal’s efficiency, you’ll want to build an Ore Mining Site, a Stone Pit, a Coal Mine, a Sulfur Mine, or a Pure Quartz Mine within your base. These provide unlimited amounts of their relative resources, of which your Mining Pals will work on.
Passive Skills
Alongside a Pal’s Mining Work Suitability, you’ll want to look at a Pal’s Passive Skill. Passive Skills are random abilities that give a Pal a particular boost. For example, the Logging Foreman Passive Skill provides a Pal with a 25% increase in their Logging efficiency.

Partner Skills
Next to Passive Skills are Partner Skills. These are a Pal’s unique ability that often benefits their combat abilities. However, they can also have an effect on a Pal’s Work Suitability. One instance of this is Digtoise’s Drill Crusher Partner Skill.

Drill Crusher not only attacks enemies if you have Digtoise out in the field, but it also increases the Pal’s mining efficiency. That said, you must craft Digtoise’s Headband and equip it to unlock this skill. Either way, Partner Skills can make a great Pal out of an okay Pal, depending on what Work Suitability you’re utilizing.
Now, let’s get into the best Mining Pals in the game.
The Palworld Best Mining Pals
The best Pals for mining are ones with a high Mining Work Suitability and might have Partner Skills or Passive Skills that cater to the ability even more.
Blazamut
Balazamut is a massive, volcanic, Fire-type Pal with the best Mining Work Suitability in the game at level four. As a high-level Pal, it’s difficult to take down and capture, but doing so will net you an excellent Mining Pal.

Unfortunately, this Pal has a Fire Partner Skill that simply allows you to ride it rather than anything that will increase its Mining Efficiency.
You can find Blazamut at Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3, at coordinates 658, 638.

Astegon
Much like Blazamut, Astegon is one of those massive Mining Pals with the best Mining Work Suitability you can ask for.

What’s also nice is its Mining-focused Partner Skill, Black Ankylosaur. This Skill not only turns Astegon into a Flying mount, but it also does increased damage to Ore when mounted.
Astegon is also a Pal you can find at Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3.

Knocklem
Knocklem is a ground Pal with a Mining Suitability of four. It looks like a big creature in a set of armor and was introduced in the Sakurajima Update.

It’s a Pal you can only find roaming around in the form of an Alpha Pal. Alpha Pals are big, mini-boss versions of typical Pals. They’re harder to take down or catch than normal Pals, but provide more experience as a result.
This Pal’s Partner Skill is Steel Guardian mode, which improves its attack and defense stats. Unfortunately, this doesn’t help with Mining.
Digtoise
Digtoise is a turtle Pal with a spiky shell — somewhat reminiscent of Bowser’s minions.

This Ground-type Pal is so focused on Mining that it even drops Ore if you defeat or capture it.
As mentioned earlier, the Digtoise Ground Partner Skill is Drill Crusher. It mines Ore more efficiently than usual for this Pal. Otherwise, Digtoise has a mining level efficiency of three. You can find them on the northeastern side of the Desert anywhere around the Deep Sand Dunes Fast Travel Point at coordinates 528, 529.

Cryolinx Terra
The Cryolinx Terra is a sub-species version of the normal Terra Pal. Think of a sub-species as a kind of rare alteration of a Pal, much like a shiny Pokemon.

This Pal has a Mining Work Suitability of three, alongside its Handiwork, Lumbering, and Transporting abilities. Such a versatile skillset makes this Pal great at other tasks outside of mining Ore Deposits.
Introduced with the game’s recent Feybreak update, you can find Cryolinx Terra roaming the outskirts of Feybreak Island.
Reptyro
Much like Digtoise, Reptyro is a shell-sporting beast — only this Pal is a Fire-type alongside its Ground type.

It also sports a mining-focused Partner Skill in Ore-loving Beast, an ability that increases its mining work speed while mounted. That is, if you’re mining Ore with it.
Otherwise, Reptyro has a Mining Suitability of three. You can find it roaming the Eastern side of Mount Obsidian.
These guys are seen gathering all around the Mount Obsidian Midpoint at coordinates -496, -442

Menasting
Menasting’s name is well-suited, considering the Pal is a menacing giant scorpion. It’s dark and ghastly, but it also sports a Mining Work Speed of three.

That said, this Pal’s Partner Skill isn’t at all relevant to mining. Even so, you’ll still want Menasting on your team if you’re building a base full of Mining Pals.
You can find this creature in the Destroyed Mineshaft on the southern part of the map’s desert, at Wildlife Sanctuary No. 2 at coordinates -679, -113, or while you explore Sakurajiuma’s Desert during nighttime.

With all of these details surrounding Mining Pals stuck in your head, it’s time to build a party. You can go it alone, of course, but why not create a team of your friends to jumpstart the process?
