How To Use DropMySite To Backup Multiple Websites & Databases

We’ve had hundreds of customers add DropMySite backups to their accounts since introducing in August.

As many know, we offer complimentary nightly backups with one day data retention at NameHero, but sometimes our clients wish to have extra backups for added redundancy.

I personally think it’s a great and smart idea!

The great thing about DropMySite is you can add it to your main cPanel account, especially if you’re a Reseller, and then manually add other websites, databases, and email addresses that are important and you require extra backups on.

This is extremely cost effective as it doesn’t require you to order a second DropMySite account.  As long as you have the space available, you can add additional backups!

The setup is also very easy.  You just need access to your primary DropMySite account, login through cPanel, and have access to your other site’s FTP, mySQL, or emails depending on what you want to backup:

Configure DropMySite For Multiple Websites

The most important thing to remember, if you’re backing up external mySQL databases, you have to give access to the DropMySite IP address for security.  In my setup video above you’ll notice I did this inside of cPanel -> Remote mySQL.

This is also an ideal solution for those Resellers that offer a “complete package” for their end users as it allows you to select which users and what data gets backed up.

If you have any questions setting up, feel free to let us know!

    Hi heroes!
Is the default 1 day backup from namehero effective also for MY clients on my reseller package? Do YOu make 1 day backups for them too? Or just my reseller account?

Yes, it’s default for your clients as well!
