Leveling up in Palworld is no small feat. Like in most video games, increasing a level allows you to increase your stats, such as attack and defense.
When it comes to Palworld, however, there’s an additional mechanic that ties into leveling up called Technology Points, alongside its sister mechanic in Ancient Technology Points.
This article will cover everything you need to know about Palworld Ancient Technology Points, including what Technology Points do in the first place, how to find these rare Points, and what to spend them on.
What Are Technology Points In Palworld?
Every time you level up, you gain six standard Technology Points. You can use them in the Technology Tree to buy new structures, crafting recipes for new armor and weapons, and much more. You also earn Technology Points for unlocking Fast Travel Points or by defeating bosses.
To spend Technology Points, open up the menu and head to the Technology Tab. From there, you can view the Technology Tree and unlock recipes as you see fit.

The Technology Tree is the primary method of progression in Palworld, so acquiring as many Technology Points as possible should be your main goal.

However, you may notice that while standard Technology Tree recipes are blue, there’s a column of purple Technology Tree recipes on the menu’s right-hand side. These are recipes you can only unlock with Ancient Technology Points.

What Are Palworld Ancient Technology Points?
Ancient Technology Points in Palworld are rare points reserved for very specific recipes. You don’t unlock these points by leveling up. Instead, you get Ancient Technology Points through accomplishing incredible feats like beating Alpha Pals, taking down Tower Bosses (also known as Syndicate Tower Bosses), and defeating World Bosses/Bounties.

Alpha Pals/World Bosses provide you with one Ancient Technology Point, while Tower Bosses provide you with five. You cannot unlock more Ancient Technology Points by defeating the same bosses over and over again, meaning you must explore the Map to find more Alpha Pals and Bosses to fuel your research.

Fortunately, the game provides you with enough Ancient Technology Points to unlock all of the recipes. You just need to put in the work to find all of these points.
Now that you know how to get Ancient Technology Points, let’s discuss what to unlock with them.
What To Unlock With Ancient Technology Points
As of this writing, there are 44 recipes to unlock as you collect Ancient Technology Points. While we can’t go over every single one here, we’ll break down some of the most important ones, as many of these unlocks can provide significant quality-of-life changes to both your base and your exploration.
Egg Incubator
You might notice the random Pal Eggs littered about the open world as you explore. Believe it or not, there are Pals in there! However, you can’t do anything with those Eggs until you unlock the Egg Incubator.
The Egg Incubator stores Eggs until they are ready to hatch, providing you with a new Pal to journey with. It’s one of the game’s more necessary tools, costing one Ancient Technology Point to unlock after reaching level seven.

You can craft the Egg Incubator with 10 Paldium Fragments, 30 Stone, five Cloth, and two Ancient Civilization Parts.
Small Feed Bag
As you wander the Map, encountering enemies and capturing Pals, you’ll notice that you and your team get hungry. Every time they’re hungry, you must head to your inventory and manually feed them. This process gets old quickly.

Fortunately, you can automate the process with a Feed Bag. The Feed Bag will automatically feed your team any food items you place inside of it — making your life much easier with one less thing to micromanage.
You can unlock the Small Feed Bag at level 10 for one Ancient Technology Point. Craft it with five Wood, 10 Fiber, and three Leather. You’ll encounter bigger Feed Bags as you increase your Technology Tree level.
Homeward Thundercloud
As you obtain Ancient Technology Points, you’ll notice that some recipes stand out more than others. The Homeward Thundercloud is one such item.
Unlocked at level 30 for two Ancient Technology Points, the Homeward Thundercloud allows you to teleport to your home base from anywhere in the overworld. While you can’t use it within Dungeons or while fighting Dungeon Bosses, this is a vital tool for getting home quickly.

Craft the item with one Dazzi Cloud, five Electric Organs, and two Ancient Civilization Parts.
Ore Mining Site
Speaking of streamlining your gameplay experience, the Ore Mining Site automates resource-gathering by putting your Pals to work. Placing this in your base provides an unlimited Ore supply as long as you have Mining Pals to work on it.

Unlock the Ore Mining Site at level 24 for two Ancient Technology Points, and craft it with 50 Stone, 25 Ingots, and 20 Paldium Fragments.
As you progress through the Technology Tree, you’ll come across other sites like a Coal Mining Site or a Sulfer Mining Site, amongst others.
Single-Shot Sphere Launcher
The Single-Shot Sphere Launcher is a weapon that shoots out Pal Spheres. Using the Launcher over a normal Pal Sphere allows you to capture from a further distance than just throwing one.

As you go up the Sphere Launcher levels, you eventually get one that shoots multiple Pal Spheres and another that fires homing Spheres.
Unlock the initial Launcher at level 29 in the Tech Tree with four Ancient Technology Points. Craft is using a Weapon Assembly Line II with 50 Ingots, 100 Stone, 50 Paldium Fragments, and five Ancient Civilization Parts.
