Unlimited Reseller Hosting – Overselling Enabled On All Reseller Packages

Unlimited Reseller Hosting – Overselling Enabled On All Reseller Packages

We frequently get the question about offering Unlimited Web Hosting with our Reseller packages.

In short, overselling is allowed on all of our Reseller Hosting packages.

This means you CAN offer your customers packages with Unlimited disk space and bandwidth.

There are however some important points to mention.

Limits On Reseller Hosting

Even though we allow overselling on our Reseller packages, this doesn’t mean they’re unlimited.

Each of our Reseller plans has a specific allotment of disk space and bandwidth:

This means you’re allowed to use the selected amount of disk space and bandwidth from your package (regardless of what you offer your customers).

Once your account gets near your allocated disk/bandwidth you will need to look at purchasing another Reseller hosting package.

We do not provide additional disk/bandwidth as an add-on.

The other option is to upgrade to a Virtual Private Server.

Our top Resellers have as many as 10 – 20 different Reseller hosting packages.  This is the beauty of using WHMCS to automate your business, it’ll add accounts to the package with the least amount of usage.

Setup Inside Of Web Host Manager

In order to offer Unlimited web hosting you’ll have to create a new package inside of Web Host Manager.

Because of the way Web Host Manager is designed, you’ll need to input a number in the disk/bandwidth fields even if you wish to offer unlimited.

For example, a high number such as 999999 would be appropriate.

This is how the system allows you to oversell your allocated disk/bandwidth.

I have a complete guide here that’ll walk you through this setup.

Inode & Other Limits

Regardless the amount of disk/bandwidth you decide to create for a package, each account has standard limits for our shared hosting:

  • Disk Space: Allocate from master plan
  • Bandwidth: Allocate from master plan
  • Virtual Memory: 2048MB (2GB)
  • Physical Memory: 1024MB (1GB)
  • Concurrent Connections: 25
  • Number of Processes: 100
  • I/O Limit: 2048KB/s
  • I/O operations per second: 1024
  • Inodes (soft/hard): 100,000 / 250,000

These limits have been imposed after years of testing and managing thousands of websites.

Our administration team has worked tirelessly to come up with limits that allow flexibility along with the highest redundancy possible.

Without these, our servers would be slow and sluggish and plagued with downtime (no one wants this).

If you have a customer that needs more than these limits, their website is too big for shared hosting, and will require a Virtual Private Server, that doesn’t have such limitations in place.

You can always reach out to our administration team who will help you make the correct decision (we have packages for websites of all sizes).

We have a page in our knowledgebase that explains all of these.

Remember To Be Realistic

It’s important to be realistic with your Reseller hosting business.

If you sign-up with our Corporate Hero package, you only have to make $21.42 a month to break-even (and this includes WHMCS).  That’s about 5 customers at $5 a month each.

I’m absolutely positive you’ll be able to get at least 5 customers within your first 60 days of business.

If not, you may need to look at your marketing and see who you’re pushing your website out too.

When people email in questioning our pricing, I often wonder if they’ve pondered that scenario (5 customers @ $5/month).

It’s our goal at NameHero to provide you with the best high-speed Cloud Reseller Hosting in the world.  We’ve loaded up all our packages with all the features you need to be successful in the web hosting industry.

Feel free to ask any questions below and I’ll be happy to address them!
