I’m working on a new course for our training center called VPS Hosting 101.
I feel like there is so much information out there about VPS hosting, it’ll be nice to have a place where I can organize everything in a manner where people can pick and choose the material they need.
Cloud VPS Hosting
VPS hosting has also taken on a whole new definition with the innovation of the cloud.
Here at Name Hero our entire hosting infrastructure is built on top or private high-speed cloud. Along with this comes great reliability, security, and scalability.
Back in the “old days” web hosts used to use virtualization technology to partition off dedicated servers for VPS’s. While this worked it wasn’t scalable. If a VPS needed more resources, either the entire dedicated server would have to be taken offline, or moved to a completely different server.
Regardless, there was a lot of downtime involved for everyone.
Scale Easily With The Cloud
When your VPS is deployed on our high-speed cloud, resources such as disk space, RAM, and virtual processors can be added at the click of a mouse.
Your virtual private server also isn’t reliable on one single dedicated server being online. Our private cloud is built across multiple servers creating a lot more redundancy and reliability.
Coming later this year, we’ll also be introducing our Cloud Dedicated Servers that you can also automatically scale your VPS to, without having to move your files.
Main Benefits To VPS Hosting
- Dedicated resources – Dedicated amount of RAM, disk space, and CPU processing power.
- Full root access – Customize every aspect of the server all the way up to the operating system.
- Eliminate Bottlenecks – High traffic websites can often bottleneck on shared hosting, eliminate this.
- Reliability – It’s your server, your websites. No one else uses or shares it.
These benefits are the same as “old school” VPS hosting, but with the cloud it adds a whole new level of flexibility.
Personally, I’ve always been the type of control freak that has wanted a VPS over shared hosting. Either way though, you’re going to notice a lot of benefits being on the cloud.
In the following video I discuss this in a bit more detail:
Stay tuned to the blog as I’ll be posting more details about my upcoming VPS Hosting 101 course soon!
