Why Fall Is The Best Time To Start Your Reseller Hosting Business

By Ryan Gray on August 31, 2017 0

Why Fall Is The Best Time To Start Your Reseller Hosting Business

Fall is my favorite time of the year to work.

With summer winding down, the kids back in school, I have less temptation to be outside playing and more motivation to be inside getting work done.

I feel like I get the “bulk of my yearly work” in during the fall months and suggest our Resellers do the same thing.

Labor Day Kickoff

Even though Labor Day weekend is a couple of weeks from fall “officially” beginning, I like to use it as my pivot point to get things going.

If you’re a Reseller offering hosting to your customers this is a perfect time to offer your “first big sale” to your customers.

Historically, June, July, and August are slow for web hosting sales as a lot of people want to spend their summers relaxing and vacationing not worrying about changing servers, migrating their websites, emails, and data.

Labor Day signals to many people that it’s time to get back on the grind!

Build For The New Year

By far, the best months for the web hosting business is immediately following the holidays after the first of the New Year.

From my experience, a lot of companies like to “start fresh” with a New Year and are much more motivated to get things moved to a new provider.

You’re going to see increased conversion rates across all your paid advertising during this time, but it’s important to start building in the fall.

Don’t Wait Until The Holidays

While Black Friday is always big for hosting companies there will be some “calm before the storm” with the holidays in November and December.

That said, if you’re a new Reseller you should have everything rocking and rolling before then.  Personally, I don’t think it’s a “good idea” to launch at the new year as you may have some unexpected problems that could turn into a big headache.

When people come to you in January ready for hosting, nothing will turn them away faster than technical issues or a hassle getting things moved over.

The Time Is Now

I’m super stoked for the fall and am excited for the things happening here at Name Hero.  I have a lot of goals for our Resellers and am looking forward to helping you achieve them all.
