If someone was to ask you what you spend the bulk of your time doing would your answer be the same if they were to ask your passion? Being passionate about something isn’t all about finding something that yields you millions of dollars a year, it’s something you enjoy doing that provides self gratification on every level possible.
When you do something that you love and that you’re good at – it’s fair to say you’re passionate about it. When asked about the pay, some school teachers say it the best when they say they teach because they “love it.” Help children develop and train the upcoming generation, summers off, holidays off, and if lucky, snow days.
Far too often people will come into an industry, such as Affiliate Marketing and expect instant riches because of the “media hype” about social media and other exploding mediums such as mobile. Many are intrigued about the latest and hot technology while others are simply interested in the dollar signs. Some of the youngest billionaires in the world do stem from the Internet right?
Tomorrow morning when you have to be to “work” at 8 a.m. are you setting your alarm for 7:45 or 5:30? Those that set it at 5:30 don’t want to hit snooze and lie around covered up for the next two hours; they want to get up and prepare themselves mentally and physically. It’s a great time to sip some coffee or tea, do a quick workout, and slowly turn on everything preparing for the day’s battle. This is passion. Those that are waking up at 7:45 to get the most sleep possible and then “throwing something on” and racing out the door without breakfast aren’t passionate. They’re doing it because they have too.
Often around the office Ruck will bust my balls because I’ve never had a “real job.” I’ve told him time and time again there were many months I wasn’t sure about things, but I always “got by.” Not every month I was able to go out and travel or eat out at a nice restaurant. I was preserving all of my liquid capital investing right back into my business wondering if I could stretch my next payment to pay rent.
Money is irrelevant though when you’re chasing your passion. It doesn’t matter if you’re making $10 one day and $10,000 the next, you’re still going to set that alarm clock for 5:30 and get up ahead of the crowd to be fully prepared to work. You understand that you don’t want to be out spending money because you’re happy pursing your passion; sink or swim.
Fortunately we live in a world where our dreams can come true as long as we work hard enough. How many application developers have we seen become millionaires (or even billionaires) in recent years? How many affiliates have we seen start earning money before they’re out of high school? It continues to amaze me daily and just fuels my passion. Are you executing your passion?
