As I sit here and watch the clouds gather around the watch tower I can’t help but notice summer is coming to an end. I started mine with a relaxing vacation then followed up with a speaking engagement in Beverly Hills then eventually Grind Session East in New York City. Many records were achieved, we launched iMobiTrax, and we continued to build up our affiliate base at Revived Media. Not to mention the blog here alone on IMGrind is now reaching over 60,000 monthly unique visitors. It’s been a good one to say the least!
If you’ve been reading IMGrind over the last year you know that fall is one of my favorite times of the year. Not only do I enjoy the football games on the weekends I find myself more motivated to work as I have less distractions from wanting to go out to the pool or hangout with friends that are off work or in town visiting family. With vacations coming to an end I find many campaigns begin to convert differently, especially with the upcoming holidays (the time is now to start planning). I also utilize the trends *cough football* to monetize traffic. This year I plan on launching several mobile based lead gens around it.
I’m really big about setting obtainable goals to measure performance. As the summer months come to an end I’m pulling out my notepad and looking at the goals I set before the summer began and evaluate my performance. I mentioned above that we launched iMobiTrax back in July. With the launch over it’s now time to evaluate our current customer base and ensure we’re implementing new features they request at the same time expanding our client-base to other marketers. The same goes for the campaigns I’ve been running.
At the beginning of the summer I ran some lead gen campaigns for a shopping based website selling swimsuits, summer clothes, and other items. Now, it’s time to tailor those to “back to school” as well as “fall/winter weather.” Some other campaigns have simply “ran their course” and I’m going to be optimizing them for top performance over the next couple of months.
As you enjoy the final days of summer I recommend evaluating your business with some of the items I’ve mentioned. There are still four months left in 2012, and with the holiday shopping season, they maybe your best months of the year. Don’t forget to set goals and follow-up with them. Far to often I see marketers/affiliates with huge goals but they become distracted and don’t follow through 100%. If you don’t set yourself performance metrics there is no way you can consistently grow and develop your business.

Do you guys focus on mobile and lead gen right now? You said that you continue to build up your affiliate base, is owning a traffic source really a long term business?
To be honest, if you are advertiser, you can pretty relax and let the network drive traffic. I don't seem to understand your goals.
Sorry!
