Our VPS hosting packages have the ability to be integrated for a one-time setup fee of $29.95. Personally, I think this is a tremendous benefit as if you were to go to Cloudflare directly and purchase the Railgun, you would have to have their business package which starts at $200/month.
Anything I can do to increase my page speed, I’m game, especially in today’s mobilized world!
Partial vs. Full Integration
The first thing you need to consider is if you want to do a partial or full integration with Cloudflare. With a partial you can use your current name servers, but have to use the ‘www’ version of the website. With a full integration you have to change your nameservers to Cloudflare.
I explain this in more details in this knowledgebase article.
Enable Cloudflare On Your VPS
The first step to enabling Cloudflare (with Railgun) on your VPS is to order the option during our sign-up process. Additionally you can also order it at a later date and our Level III Superheros will get you setup!
Once Cloudflare is installed and enabled on your server you just need to enable it inside of cPanel. To do this you need to have a free account with Cloudflare. If you already have one, you can login to it as well.
Once logged in inside of cPanel, select partial or full integration, then you’re off to the races!
Please note if you select full integration you’ll need to change your name servers and give them up to 24 hours to propagate.
When Cloudflare is activated on your website, you just need to select the Railgun to on. We have this enabled on all of our VPS hosting packages:
That’s it! The entire process only takes a couple of minutes to configure and then you will have the added performance and security benefits of Cloudflare on your website.
If you’re using SSL please remember it’ll have to automatically re-issue once you enable, so please allow a few hours for this to happen. You may want to enable during your off peak hours.
