I have been doing what we call an “injection” to the Community over the weekend adding craploads of new mobile marketing content. We’ll both continue to preach the amount of money to be made in the space is almost unimaginable. Traffic is cheap and using lead generation arbitrage strategies the ideas of monetization are limitless.
I want to discuss yet another effective method that you can use to really turn some nice profits. First you need to realize that any money-making method online is going to take some work. Sure, there are still some campaigns you can just “throw up” in a couple of minutes and crank a quick dollar but these opportunities are coming far less common. As regulations become stricter and more competition come on, you have to really utilize marketing knowledge to get things rocking for months/years to come.
Once you fully understand that and enter what I’m about to say with an open and creative mind – you’ll be much more likely to succeed than others. OK have that thinking cap on? Tighten it down a notch then ask yourself – what could I create that I could monetize with CPA offers but at the same time entice the visitors to fill out offers.
Off the top of my head a “discounted iPad/iPhone” comes to mind. I pick this because it is appealing to a massive audience and there are plenty of CPA offers for monetization. Now – it’s time to get to work.
Your job as a “crafty” Internet Marketer (and not a copy-cat flogger) is to create a PDF report filled with affiliate links on “how to get a cheap iPad/iPhone.” I personally would fill it full with a couple of penny auction CPA offers (those are hot – right?). My report would break down the penny auction website process and I would provide legitimate testimonials (provided by advertisers) to really explain to the user how the entire process works. Since these offers pay CPA in the $60+ range – you’re able to recoup a lot of your advertising costs very quickly while at the same time building a massive list. But how do they get to the PDF? Easy – they go down your conversion funnel.
The process would look something like this:
Mobile Optimized Optin Landing Page -> One More Step Page (Optimized Landing Page Asking User To Check Email To Download The Report) > Email Confirmation Link -> Thank You Page With Bonus Offer (Upsell) > Email Is Dispatched with your PDF
OK so we’ve already talked about Mobile Optimized Optin Landing Pages. Those are really easy to create using some simple jQuery. You’ll need to split test a couple of pages to find the correct copy/colors people want to enter their email address. The same goes for the One More Step Page.
Since the user is browsing your offer on the phone it’s likely they also have their email setup (I know my mother even does). So you want to remember this when writing your confirmation email. They’re on their phone so get to the point fairly quick. Once the user clicks the email confirmation link they should be brought to ANOTHER mobile optimized landing page (Thank You Page) where you attempt to upsell them. You tell them there is a “Bonus” but you’ve also emailed them the PDF (which can easily be confirmed with AWeber). The “Bonus” offer can be something as simple as an email/zip submit for an iPhone/iPad. Even if the page isn’t WAP optimized – it can still work.
Since you’ve emailed the visitor the “Report” they’re going to have it in their inbox and it’s likely they’ll wait to read it when they get to a computer. This is when you’ll be able to get some conversions off the penny auction offers you inserted (try one, try multiple – split test and find that sweet spot).
Finally you want to make sure you capitalize off the back-end with a followup email sequence. I recommend mailing the double optins at least once a day for the first week if not entire month. You can then break them down a bit more since the list is going to be “less responsive” but this all comes down to testing and evaluating the quality of your traffic. Also – your email data should be sent to a list management grouped for even more ROI.
I’m going to leave things at that. I hope to see many of you take advantage of this – and even post your results/ask for suggestions in the Community. This space is so wide open and there is so much money out there – you’d be stupid to ignore methods like this one. I’ve laid everything out there for you, just get creative, and start taking action. Kill it!
