Buy Web Hosting And Domain Registrations With Bitcoin

Great news!

We just reactivated our Coinbase merchant account and will be once again accepting Bitcoin for web hosting and domain registrations.

When I originally started NameHero back in 2015 we were one of the first web hosting providers to begin accepting Bitcoin, but unfortunately had to internally pause while we made some changes to our order processing.

I’m a firm believer in Bitcoin

Several years ago, I had friends, family, co-workers, etc. tell me I was crazy for investing into Bitcoin (and maybe rightfully so).

My first transaction was before all of the online exchanges and I purchased a couple hundred worth of Bitcoin at $10 each using Western Union.

Years later, I started to invest much heavier at prices around $300 each.

As of this writing the current price for 1 BTC is $3,981.56.  Talk about some crazy growth!

Is it sustainable long term?  That’s still to be determined but I know more and more of my “techie” friends are opening accounts with Coinbase even if it’s for small investments.

That’s why we’re accepting Bitcoin once again as it only makes sense to pay for digital services with digital currency :).

Fraud Checks Still In Place

Given Bitcoin’s history with the “dark” web (i.e. the Silkroad) some bad actors believe it’s an untraceable currency that can be used to get away with a bunch of shady business.

That’s not true.

Coinbase has a pretty extensive vetting process and we will still be conducting our fraud checks here at Name Hero.

Remember, we don’t allow adult content nor anything else that’s scammy (email spam, deceptive marketing, etc.). So please don’t try to sign-up using fake information and Bitcoin, that’ll only ruin it for everyone :).

Get A Free $10 With Coinbase

If you sign-up using our referral link, you’ll receive $10 USD (or equivalent in your local currency) with your first $100 buy or sell within 180 days of opening your account.

That’s almost enough for a free domain, so why not?

Those of you that have never dealt with Bitcoin, I like to compare Coinbase to PayPal.

Its a very similar process to setting up and verifying an account.  You’ll need a funding source (Bank/PayPal/Credit/Debit Card) and also have to verify your ID if you’re wanting to increase your limits.

Finally, to buy your web hosting / domains with Bitcoin, simply select the Coinbase payment option and follow the steps!

Let us know if you have any questions!
