This week Ruck wrote a blog post titled Why Some Affiliate Marketers Thrive While Most Barely Survive. This really got me reflecting on the hundreds of affiliates I’ve worked with and got to know over the years and who is still successful and who isn’t. Some are still generating strong seven-figure annual profits while others have retired back to the 9-5 and even quit working online all together.
Being an affiliate isn’t for everyone. Most people use it as a stepping stone to their next business venture. Several of my friends have used their affiliate marketing income to go on and create lucrative offline businesses. Others simply like working from one-campaign to the next and only put in 10 – 15 hours a week but are still able to generate solid figures annually. But what makes the difference between affiliates? Why do some do very well and others fizzle out?
While each situation is unique, I like to reflect on my personal success to highlight the areas I’ve been successful with and how I’ve created consistency. By far the biggest thing that has allowed me to continue to create multiple million dollar plus campaigns is the ability to always continue moving forward. There is nothing worse than getting stuck in a rut and not being able to get out. My campaigns today are completely different than my campaigns last year. My campaigns last year were completely different then the year before. Year after year though I continue to Adapt, Develop, and Progress to find success.
At Revived Media I always tell my affiliates that my most successful campaigns stem from me being unique. I’ve never been extremely successful copying what someone else is doing and running it myself. My campaigns that yield me the most ROI are the ones I wake-up during the middle of the night and jot down ideas in the notepad beside my bed. Much like My Lead Generation Arbitrage Website That Made $61,796.49; this campaign wasn’t handed to me. I had to sit around, plan everything out, and then develop my unique monetization funnel which allowed me to transition my traffic from leads into sales. I was then able to make a good bit of money from it.
So many affiliates just starting out want to believe that there is some “secret” traffic source or “magical” landing page that turns regular people into super affiliate badasses. Unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. Successful affiliates are successful on multiple traffic sources with multiple campaigns. It doesn’t matter if they’re doing a media buy on the web, have a SEO website, or running on mobile devices. As long as they’re given a “hot” offer (ie: one that converts) they’re able to make it work.
To be brutally honest I feel like people (especially in my generation) come to expect too much to be given to them. I always had a big problem growing up when everyone on a basketball team would get equal playing time because it was “only fair.” It shouldn’t work like that. The good players are rewarded with more playing time because they’ve spent more time practicing and have dedicated more of their lives to be extra ordinary. Life isn’t always “fair” and trust me I spent many games riding the pine.
Thinking back to my affiliates at Revived Media, the top 10 affiliates I work with are the ones that wake-up every morning, get a hot campaign. and bust their rear until they get it profitable. The traffic source, vertical, landing page, etc. are irrelevant. As long as the offer is working overall, they’ll find their own unique way to get their traffic to convert. It’s not WHY ISN’T THIS WORKING it’s OK I WILL FIND A WAY TO MAKE IT WORK.
Inside our Private Forums I’ve literately watched thousands of people come in and out with everyone having one similar goal – to become more successful working online. Some reach extraordinary success; like Patrick who made $20,000 in 20 days with mobile. Others come in and like the idea of developing a career online but aren’t able to devote the extra time it takes. Becoming your “own boss” can be one of the most rewarding things one can accomplish but it can also be the most challenging. You’re going to have to wake-up early and stay-up late. You’re going to have to skip that Monday night football game with your friends and work on Saturday morning.
I promise to everyone out there reading this that there is not anything that we’re leaving out. There is nothing that is “top secret.” Throughout the material here on the IMGrind.com blog, inside our Private Forum, and throughout our numerous free guides, there is nothing we haven’t published that’s holding you back from succeeding online. As we head into the weekend reflect back on your own personal goals and what you’re doing to make big changes in your life and if you’re on the right path to becoming an affiliate millionaire!
