Well the Holidays are almost over! I don’t know about you but I’m personally ready for everyone to get back in the office and take down 2013 hard. Over the last two weeks we’ve remained in the office but many people across the industry are out making it very challenging to accomplish things. I do hope though that your Holiday has been pleasant and you’ve had a lot of rest ready for the New Year!
We closed out 2011 with a plan and we’ve been working around the clock sense to see everything through. We’re now reaching over 3,500 unique visitors daily on the IMGrind.com blog, have over 1,000 active members inside the Community, have launched and have a provisional patent on iMobiTrax, and have leverage Revived Media as a top mobile agency with over 400 active affiliates and brands! Busy is an understatement but we had goals and reached them accordingly.
In Ruck’s last post of 2012 he noted that there are only 365 days in the year which equals out to 8,760 hours. It’s even playing field for everyone but those who utilize their time efficiently and set goals accordingly find success with hard work. There is no substitute for having pride in something and working the hours necessary to make sure success is accomplished. While it’s not always easy making sacrifices, that’s something that must be done for any Entrepreneur to be successful.
Last Friday, December 28th was an important milestone in my career; it was my 14th year anniversary working online. Back in 1998 I saw potential in the Internet and thought it would be amazing to have my content, produced in my bedroom, read by people all over the world. While I knew it was going to be big, never in my wildest dreams would I have thought it would have been as big as it has become.
One of my biggest advantages to being successful in business, especially online, is the ability to adapt, develop, and progress. Each year has been different. If I was to stay doing the same thing I did back in 2000 I wouldn’t be sitting here today. Growing an online business can be intimating because the future is never clear. What works today may not work tomorrow. You have to never quit learning and be able to quickly adapt all while growing at the same time. Look at some large companies that have been around a long time. Yahoo was once the search leader while now Google owns the market. Microsoft once dominated but now Apple has leveraged their products. Facebook is the largest social network in the world and Myspace is still undergoing “changes” hoping to find their niche and start growing again. If you don’t consistently gain momentum it can be a very hard thing to regain.
As we prepare to enter 2013 consider the way you access the Internet. When I graduated college in 2007 I rarely accessed the Internet from my phone. Now, I spend hours online from not only my phone but on my iPad. Today, I view the web completely different than I did even five years ago. As a Internet Entrepreneur I’ve adapted my business accordingly and as a result have thrived while so many aren’t as fortunate. Will Rogers summed it up quite well with the following quote: “Remember that you are not safe. Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.” That’s true in every business.
2013 is going to be an interesting year. Those that continue to adapt, develop, and progress will thrive while those that have become complacent and are spending the majority of their days “balling” are going to be in for a rude awakening. In the New Year I’m going to continue the same path and wake-up everyday doing what I love. Not for the money but because I love what I do. Each day brings a new challenge but also opportunity.
On behalf of myself, Ruck, and the entire team here at IMGrind.com thank you ALL for the amazing support throughout 2012. We look forward to working with you all in 2013 and helping you accomplish all of your business goals beyond your wildest dreams. If you didn’t meet your goals in 2012, the clock starts clean at midnight, so start fresh with a clean slate! Happy New Year!
