How To Setup Your Email On An iPhone

Easily set up your email on your iPhone manually or using automatic configuration.

One of the biggest challenges many of our new customers face is setting up their email accounts on their iPhones.

cPanel has actually made the process extremely easy by creating "profiles" for iOS that all you to login, download them, and setup the account automatically.

Unfortunately, many customers don't realize this exists, so we'll walk you through how to set it up and manually input your email settings.

How To Setup A cPanel Email Account On Your iPhone Automatically

If you're unable to get this method to work, you can setup the account manually as explained below, it just requires typing the username (email address) and password multiple times.

If setting up on a Mac or Windows you can basically follow the same process for the automated file, just ensure you click on the correct link inside of cPanel.

Step 1: Log into cPanel on your iPhone and tap on Email Accounts in the Email section.

Step 2: Tap on the Connect Devices button next to the email you want to configure.

Step 3: Select the IMAP over SSL/TLS option next to the iPhone option then you'll be prompted to download the file.

Step 4: Open the file then your email account will be automatically configured for you in your Mail app.

How To Manually Setup An iPhone Email Account

The most important thing you need to remember here, is to use the Incoming and Outgoing mail servers that are provided inside of cPanel. Since SSL is free an automatic at NameHero you want to use the SSL settings. This ensures the highest level of security.

To see your email configuration information, log into cPanel and click on Email Accounts in the Email section then select the Connect Devices button next to the email you want to configure.

Email Configuration

Step 1: Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone and scroll down to find "Mail".

Step 2: Tap on "Mail" and then tap on "Accounts".

Step 3: Tap on "Add Account" to add a new email account.

Step 4: Select "Other" as the type of email account.

Step 5: Under "Mail Account", enter your name, email address, password, and a description for the email account. Tap "Next".

Step 6: Choose "IMAP" or "POP" as the account type. IMAP allows you to sync your emails across multiple devices (recommended), while POP downloads emails to the specific device. Tap "Next".

Step 7: In the "Incoming Mail Server" section, enter the following information:

  • Hostname: This is the hostname of your cPanel server, usually in the format of "mail.yourdomain.com", where "yourdomain.com" is your actual domain name.

  • Username: Enter your full email address.

  • Password: Enter the password for your email account.

Tap "Next" when done.

Step 8: In the "Outgoing Mail Server" section, enter the following information:

  • Hostname: This is the same as the incoming mail server, usually in the format of "mail.yourdomain.com".

  • Username: Enter your full email address.

  • Password: Enter the password for your email account.

Tap "Next".

Step 9: Choose the desired options for syncing mail, contacts, and calendars. Tap "Save" to complete the setup.

Your cPanel-based email account is now set up on your iPhone. You can access your emails using the Mail app on your iPhone, and send and receive emails just like any other email account.
