There are various Merchant types in Palworld, each one offering different items (or Pals) for you to purchase. Some offer more basic items, like Assault Rifle Ammo or High Quality Pal Oil, while other Merchants are more specific, focusing on crafting materials or the Grass Skill Fruit Seed, amongst others.
Palworld Merchant Types
Wandering Merchant
Wandering Merchants are pretty self-explanatory — they wander around the world buying and selling items. You may find these Merchants in a random spot while exploring, or one might visit your base as you’re building structures.
That said, sometimes a Wandering Merchant is anything but. Occasionally, these Merchants stand in specific locations, such as at the Small Settlement, for you to visit as you please. It’s any wonder why these Merchants don’t go by a different name, but we’ll detail these locations later on in the guide.

Pal Merchant
Pal Merchants buy and sell Pals instead of items. This is a bit of a dark turn for the game, but we try not to think about it too much.

If you have too many of one type of Pal or are simply looking to make a quick buck, a Pal Merchant isn’t a bad way to go about that.
Black Marketeers
Did you know that you can capture humans in Palworld? Yup. Using a Pal Sphere, you can capture most of the enemies in Palworld instead of defeating them.

Black Marketeers are a part of this mechanic. They buy and sell humans, which is even darker than the Pal Merchant’s offerings.
Medal Merchants
Finally, we have Medal Merchants. These Merchant types were introduced in the Sakurajima Update, and sell rare items like Skill Fruits, Pal Hats, and Elixirs.
However, a Medal Merchant will not transact with Gold Coins. Instead, they only work with Dog Coins.

You can acquire Dog Coins in various ways, such as by defeating Mimogs or opening chests on Sakurajima Island. Mimogs are chest-shaped Pals that roam around most of the game’s islands.

You’d best keep an eye out for Dog Coins, as Medal Merchant items are incredibly valuable.
Palworld Merchant Locations
Now, let’s get into some of the best Palworld Merchant Locations.
Small Settlement
You’ll find the Small Settlement Fast Travel Point at coordinates 74, -485, not too far northeast from the starting area.

As described above, you’ll find a Wandering Merchant and a Pal Merchant here. It’s a great spot for starting players, especially if you’re looking for a quick source of Leather or Wool.
In a similar vein, you’ll also find a Bounty Intel Dealer here. These characters provide you with Bounty locations so you can take them down for great rewards.

Fisherman’s Point
The Wandering Merchant at Fisherman’s Point is the logical next step in comparison to the Small Settlement Merchant. This Merchant offers items at a tier higher than the previous one, such as High Grade Medical Supplies, Mega Spheres, or the Fire Skill Fruit Flare Storm.

You can also find a Pal Merchant here that offers Fire-type Pals like Vanwyrm or Wixen. These are expensive, so make sure to save up some Gold before approaching him.
Lastly, there’s a second Wandering Merchant in a Green Coat that offers Schematics, weapons, armor, and ammo. If you haven’t started making weapons yet, we recommend the Makeshift Handgun and some ammo to defend yourself. You’ll also want the Heat Resistant Pelt Armor and the Heat Resistant Underwear to stand against the sweltering Desert heat.

Speaking of the Desert, you can find the Fisherman’s Point Fast Travel Point at the southern tip of the Desert under Mount Obsidian at coordinates -480, -743.

Marsh Island Church Ruins
There are two Wandering Merchants just east of the Marsh Island Church Ruins Fast Travel Point.

The red coat-wearing Merchant sells typical Wandering Merchant fare, but the blue coat-wearing Pal Merchant on the right sells some neat Pals like Eikthyrdeer and Univolt — definitely a Merchant to check out if you’re interested in expanding your Pal collection.
The Marsh Island Church Ruins Fast Travel Point is at coordinates 399, -276. Then, head east to a small island to find them. You might have to fight off a few enemies along the way.

Desert Secret Mineshaft
Next, we’re taking a quick aside to find a Black Marketeer. Black Marketeers are rarely at a Fast Travel Point like their Wandering Merchant or Pal Merchant counterparts. Rather, they’re hidden off to the side near a Secret Mineshaft (also known as an Abandoned Mineshaft).
These areas are often marked by Torches and some fencing, indicating a cave entrance for you to walk through.

This Black Marketeer is slightly west of the Tower of the PIDF, at coordinates 496, 345.

A few things make Black Marketeers stand out from Wandering Merchants and Pal Merchants. For one, their Pal offerings are random rather than the set offerings a Pal Merchant has. Second, they can buy stolen Pals or even humans, as mentioned earlier.

Note: You can find another Black Marketeer just west of the Desolate Church waypoint at 63, -416.
Forgotten Island Church
Finally, we’ll uncover the location of one of the game’s Medal Merchants.
If you head to the Map’s West side and find the Forgotten Island Church Ruins Fast Travel Point at -459, -13, you’ll discover a Medal Merchant right inside.

Here, you can buy all sorts of mysterious accessories, like the Mysterious Accessories Box, which increases the amount of accessories your character can wear! This merchant also sells Life Fruit, which increases a Pal’s HP stat — ideal for strengthening one of your favorite Pals.

Of course, these are just a few of the many Merchant locations in Palworld. If you’re looking to find Wandering Merchants outside of these, why not enlist some friends?
